    Hi all,

We are sort of sleeping through the night here and by that i mean last bottle at 5ish and sleeping for 6ish, we wake to feed at our bedtime of about 10ish and they go straight back to sleep through to 7.30 or 8.30am. They usually wake us between 4am and 5am, if the paci doesn't fix them we feed them and put them back down till morning. However last night was HELL on earth!!! After the 10 oclock feed Amber woke an hr later and then every 10 or 20 mins after that right through until 4.30am!! She wasn't hungry, her bum was clean and she didn't want the paci, it seemed she wanted to play!!!!!!!!!!!! I would of preferred her to be waking up hungry, at least then we could of fed her and got some sleep after. Well, i was beyond tired and did not want her disturbing Ruby so i resorted to putting her in our bed, it worked she went to sleep until 6.40am, She usually wakes about 4 times for strokes or her paci which i can deal with but last night was ridiculous. Can anyone shed any light as to what is going on with her? Do you think we are doing the wrong thing by waking them up to feed at 10? Not sure i can do another night like last night <_<

    Tia as always!

Hard to say what it was. Some nights are just worse than others... even to this day we still have a bad night and the kids are up. Might be worth trying to drop the dream feed or moving back their 5pm bedtime if you can??

She ended up getting woke up by her sister at 4.20pm but i honestly think she could of gone all night! They are now bathed and bedded but little Ruby didn't go down well at all ;)

    Thanks anyway :D

Wow, our girls have the same birthday and I was 36 weeks, too - and delivered for the same reason!!!

I would try putting them down to bed later and try to get one more daytime feeding in. Our schedule looks like this:

8AM - first bottle (sometimes I wake them up for this, but they usually wake on their own around this time)
    9:30 - nap
    11 or 12 - second bottle
    1:30 - nap
    2:30 - third bottle
    5:00 - fourth bottle
    6:30 - nap
    8:00 - fifth bottle
    9:00 - bedtime
and then they usually sleep right on through till 8AM, with one occasionally stirring for a paci around 5AM but she stays asleep if I give it to her when she starts to stir but before she all out crys.

We're trying to go down to 4 bottles a day, and as they drop a nap in there, I will make their bedtime earlier. But for now, it works out well for us.
Congrats on your girls - isn't it getting fun at this age? :)

OH how spooky is that!! You are like my twin from across the globe  Don't you think our lo's have the BEST birthday ever!?! Yes this stage is lovely they are really coming into there own, how much do you babies weigh now?

Thanks for posting your schedule and well done for having one! Things are soooooooo ever changing right now i sometimes wonder what to do for the best :fool:
I really thought we were next to dropping the 4/5am feed but since this post things have been all over the place and the girls are taking sleepless nights in turns. I think Ruby maybe teething and Amber is trying her damdest to sit up which i have heard can cause a few sleepless nights until they master a new skill.

I have never actually controlled the wake up time for my girls i have just sort of let them wake of there own accord so in turn there bedtime varies. Sometimes they are sleeping by 5pm other times it's 7pm. Of late it has been 6pm and i hope to stick with this bedtime for a while so do you think if i make the wake up time 7am things will fall into place more? I just really HATE to wake them if they have had a rough night or if they have fed at 5am!

The girls came back from nicu on a 4hr routine you could set your clock by them, now all of a sudden we are lucky to get to 3hrs?! I wouldn't say they were eating anymore than the 4hrs just little and often?

Can you tell me how you get your lo's to stay awake AND happy from 2.30 to 6.30?? Our girls would have a complete meltdownm if they were awake that long! I can't wait for them to either tolerate awake time better OR nap better. Naps are all over the place right now too lol Amber just wants to be up and exploring the world but she obviously cant handle being up too long, all hell breaks loose if she misses a nap! All in all nice to have big strong inquisitive girls just hard being a sleep deprived Mummy trying to figure them out lol
