    Hey guys, just need input...

I went to the doctor this past Tuesday and had the glucose test done. Those results came back fine the next day, but apparently there was a small amount of protein in my urine. My blood pressure was fine though. My doctor had me do a 24 hour urine collection ( most disgusting thing I've done! ) and those results were slightly elevated. Not enough for him to be concerned though.

I'm doing the scheduled rests - resting on my left side for 1 hour three times daily - and I'm hoping that this will help keep me from getting preeclampsia, but has anyone else heard of this?? No elevated blood pressure but having protein in their urine? I did notice today that my hands were a little swollen cuz I had trouble getting my rings off ... I'm just a little freaked out. Preeclampsia scares me.

I have no experience with this, just wanted to tell you that I hope it's nothing and the resting you are doing will help.   Try not to stress about it yet Momma.

I had the opposite, no protein but high BP. I also had no swelling. Only thing I can say is drink more water. Flushing out your kidneys with water does help, IMO. Make sure that you aren't eating alot of things high in salt/sodium. Good luck!

I had the same thing. I was 29 weeks. My urine after 24 hours was plus 9.3 so they took the boys. I'm not sure if you can prevent preeclampsia. I know it came on strong for me. Get rest and stay on your left side. Good luck!

Thank you! I have been toting around my 34 oz water mug and I'm pushing the fluids!

I had the same thing - at first. I started out with trace protein and so they had me to the 24 hour urine, etc... The protein continued to be there and eventually the high blood pressure came too. I had preeclampsia early (around 21 weeks). It was stable for a while but ended up being what made me deliver just shy of 32 weeks. Hopefully the protein will stay at just a small amount the blood pressure will never creep up. Pre-e is pretty scary, but the Dr's follow very closely.

To make you feel a little better, I had to do the 24 hour urine test once a week for over 10 weeks.

Oh my goodness!! For 10 weeks?? lol

I'm glad to find someone who went through the same thing. Thank you for sharing that with me. I'm hoping I won't end up on bed rest! That is going to be boring as all get out.
